two years....whew...

i have recently organized my pictures on the computer. needless to say...i really wanted to break down and cry because my little baby girl seems too grown up for her own good. now she says "thanks" to her daddy instead of the normal "thank you". she has 'adventures of elmo in grouchland' memorized. ryan makes up her OWN songs...doesn't like others singing the ones she knows. last night, i went to pick her up in the nursery at church and she turned to all the kind ladies and said "bye everybody"...blew some kisses and said "come on mommy". (where does she learn all this??) ryan is officially obsessed with the letter T for some reason. we went to k-mart and all of a sudden she is yelling "a T a T mommy look a T!" i was like where...and there i saw it a T in k-mart...the sign is just a big K but inside the k is mart....geesh. she tries to count objects and has 1-12 memorized pretty well. she simply amazes me. two years ago it seemed impossible to me to think i would have a nearly two year old daughter...

time flies. maybe i learned my lesson with ryan and that time seriously flies by when you take it one day at a time!


okay, so i am taking a class at the church called 'keepers of the home'. i am seriously in love with it...the study is about being a Godly woman...biblical...not the traditional sense...more of the biblical side. changes the way i think and challenges me to become closer to God and praying for my family...for they truly do deserve being lifted up to the Lord each day. so. another new year's resolution comes up in the middle of january...i am going to get up early each day and go to the Lord in prayer before anything else. i am pumped about the study and can't wait to learn much more.

last night during church i started to have some pain....i kept praying that it wasn't labor...as much as i wish i was near feb. 26...i want this baby in there as long as possible. every time the baby moved it hurt worse. i didn't know how to contact my ob....i guess i should ask next week. i like our relationship...i pee, i weigh, he listens to the heartbeat and measures....then it's see ya later...everyone always talks about having a personable dr...i far rather have the smartest and meanest dr than a dumb one with bed-side manner. anyways, off the subject. i called our family dr. ...he thought it was heartburn...so, i took some tums...it didn't go away...i took tylenol and the pain seemed to ease. i don't know what it was but i am happy it went away...although, i only got 3 hrs of sleep in last night. i am hoping ry takes a good nap today so i can catch some zzzzzz's.

well, off to watch fraggle rock with ryan...she became a fan today. meanwhile, i will let her litter my arm with her other obsession...stickers.

the bun in the oven is about to pop...5 more weeks till this little bundle of joy comes. i went to the dr Wednesday...everything looks good. i decided to take Ryan to this visit...normally i am in and out of the dr in 15 mins. well, they had several new patients scheduled back to back...making the schedule whacked. so, i took Ryan down to Dr. Mann's office and she watched a movie or just hung out with Dr. Mann. we will have to see if she goes to the next one...if they had toys or something in the office it wouldn't be such a big deal but a room full of chairs is a room of climbing to a 2 yr old.

Ryan now kisses the "babies" in my belly...she thinks 'they' are only in my protruding belly button. today she took her pretend stethoscope and put it on my belly and said "there ya go". yesterday we were playing in her room and she accidentally hit my nose as i was tickling her...made my eyes water...she placed her hands on my cheeks and said "it is okay baby" and gave me 5 kisses and a huge hug!!

today i thought i would see what Ryan would do with big girl panties on...i am not expecting much...i know one day she will be potty trained and i shouldn't train her on my time but hers. so, i put them on and she was thrilled she had Elmo on her panties. i take her to the potty and nothing happens....then 2 min. i hear.... "oooooooooooooo nooooooooo" in a panic voice...i run to her room and she had an accident...i am thinking potty training is RIGHT around the corner!! i am planning to wait till the end of march....

ryan the diva

riding down the road in the car i was attempting to teach ryan "bingo"...ya know, there was a farmer who had a dog....well, after she gets a part of it she tells me to STOP MOMMY...then carries on the tune herself...what is worse is when she tells daddy...she gets mad when he starts singing the songs she knows....that is why i write....ryan is a diva!

baby dedications and more......

i guess i am slowing down but everyone else is zooming by me. one of the lovely things that comes with the third trimester! 6 more weeks i tell myself. hopefully i can last that much longer!! :D pretty sad i haven't bought anything...but my assumption is that if the baby is a girl...she is set for life and probably won't ever have new clothes except ryan's hand-me downs. if it's a boy...i have a couple outfits that will last me a couple days and i have several gender neutral outfits from ryan.

friday we chilled...tucker had a conference in OKC...came home a little late...saturday we went to eat breakfast with tucker's granny and grandpa....along with his dad...ryan's fav person (PAPA). afterwards, i introduced tucker to antique store shopping. we bet the other day and i won $10 so i like to look for little dishes...cups...things of that nature. tucker found some swords...of course that was a big no!

yesterday was parent dedication. leave it to the POOL kid to act like a nut. okay, so i got up at 7 and took a shower...tucker got up and took one...then he went to music practice...tried to get her to eat a banana...not worth the battle. gave her a bath. went to get myself ready after ironing 10 pieces of clothing it seemed....spilled coffee all over my bathroom vanity...yes...a whole cup...whew...the blow dryer and flat iron still work...i can breathe. get to church. try to get ry to eat again....she has other plans of playing with all the toys in the room. we take some pics and she does good (WHEW). crazy. then we go to the sanctuary and she wants to run down the aisles instead of sitting down. church begins with baby dedication....thank you church staff. ryan flops everywhere and the pastor stop mid-sentence and said it was okay for her to get down. little did we know the the couple next to us was slipping m&m's to their kid. live and learn right?? 5 minutes and we are off to the nursery...thank you!

after church, everyone wanted to compliment our precious little girl and her trying to put on a show...literally. we then go to weatherford to eat with tucker's granny and grandpa....along with the infamous papa...he calls ryan "a worm in a skillet". we convince the resturant to make a grilled cheese. she's finished. i decided to take her outside while the others could eat in peace. oh it is 1:45 without a nap. there are some might large rocks....why rocks facinate a 2 yr old...i have no clue. on her rock quest she walks into a pole...meltdown. she sees another rock so she is over it. everyone is finished eating...ryan hugs all her grandparents. 2 miles down the road...out...did i mention that her nap is usually 10:15 and she didn't sleep but 5 hours the night before??

exhausted...we all crash. back up and back to church.

i haven't written in awhile. well, things are zooming here at the pool homestead. it's caught up with me that within 7 weeks i could have a baby....and simply i haven't truly prepared the house or anything....i will put that on my to-do list. i can't wait to see if it's a boy or a girl.... :D

ryan grows up more every second. yesterday i began to organize picture on my computer and found her hospital pics and more...a few tears definitely went down my cheek. some moments i would like to pause....others i would definitely like to fast-forward through...like the times she gets on the ground and lays there...puts her hands over her eyes...(that's her fit). others i would love to treasure...like....the other day, she walked up to me and gave me a kiss and said 'love you mommy'.

this past weekend julee came over. saturday we went to the zoo because it was 70 in january! wow! we try to get to the zoo once a month. well, afterwards we went to the mall to the disney store...ryan's face was priceless...i can only imagine if we went to disney world!! she flew around racks calling out MICKEY...MINNIE!! she's going through a mickey mouse phase. on the way out we were singing the mickey mouse song and she all of a sudden said "daddy...STOP...SHHHHH!"...talk about a diva. all in all...i thought we were going to have it worse...but don't get me wrong...lil bro or sis is on the way.

baby and i are doing okay. i am getting to the point of misery. being 5'1 and carrying ryan and a fetus gets pretty wearing on the ole' back. 7 more weeks though and baby pool will finally be here!! :D i hope our family adjusts well. tucker is taking off for a week and a day to help pick me up and take care of ryan. we are planning to take ryan to ELMO Live for her birthday...a week after surgery...we will see :D hopefully this time around no blood transfusions and crazy soreness.

i am anemic. as most would remember that i was severe with ryan and ended up with blood transfusions. now i am taking my normal iron pre-natal and another iron pill...blah.

2008

sadly enough...i AM ready to see the 2008 go. it wasn't a horrible year...yet it wasn't the greatest year.

things to remember:

• ryan got pnemonia and was hospitalized....
• ryan walked two days before her birthday
• ryan turned 1 (tear)
• i helped coach julee's softball team and had a blast
• ryan didn't like the swimming pool and gradually liked it
• tucker and i celebrated 4 yrs of marriage
• tucker and i found out i am pregnant...
• we got to see the carroll side of family
• maddie our niece was born
• julee moved to tucker's parents
• julee started 7th grade and turned 13 EEEEEK!
  
• i was told i am having a boy
• then i was told it was unknown
• then i was told it was a girl
• thew we decided not to find out
• ryan started talking A LOT
• ryan started dance class
• ryan had her first recital
• jake and jessica got married
• CHRISTmas flew by in a blur

• be a better mommy and wife
• take the course 'keepers of the home' at our church
• become members of FBC
• master photoshop
• be nicer to my in-laws
• read the bible daily instead of not very much
